João Mansur

Founded in 1984, João Mansur Arquitetura Design e Arte initially focused primarily on interior design, completing more than 50 different projects in just two years.

In 1988, it was recognized by the specialized media as one of the country’s “Top 10” firms. That same year, as the company grew, it expanded into the corporate sector and was hired by Giorgio Armani to assist with the brand’s entry into Brazil. From then on, the firm signed numerous corporate contracts—including projects for restaurants, hotels, stores, and nightclubs—thereby consolidating its Architecture and Design divisions.

In the early 1990s, the firm was already in high demand and served a wide range of clients nationwide; by the mid-1990s, it had expanded internationally with the opening of its first branch office in New York.

Starting in 1995, recognizing opportunities in the construction and real estate development sectors, the firm built luxury condominiums in Florida, Connecticut, New Jersey, and New York. A few years later, upon the completion of these projects, the firm took a significant step into Europe, establishing its main base in Lisbon, where it worked on retrofit projects for century-old buildings, as well as the pioneering project for Portugal’s first “Flat Service” in the city of Cascais.

During this period of major projects in the United States and Europe, there were numerous publications and awards, both in Brazil and abroad.

In 2005, the firm merged its New York operations with Michele Safra Interiors, becoming a major player in the U.S. market.

With all the experience it has gained over the years, João Mansur Arquitetura Design Arte is a firm active in all areas of architecture.
